I absolutely loved everything about Cathy & Duncan's wedding. It was totally unique, super relaxed and fun. It was full of personality, they did everything their own way, escaping tradition. Just beautiful! Clopton Courtyard is a wonderful barn retreat set in the Cambridgeshire countryside, but just a year before the wedding day, the venue was a run-down farm in need of some major TLC! Cathy & Duncan saw the potential in this place and after months of work, with friends and family chipping in, they transformed the barns and buildings into stunning holiday rentals that are oozing with style and character. Nothing fazes these two - from the minute I met them and they explained the current status of their soon-to-be wedding venue I must admit I had my doubts that everything would be ready! But it's safe to say they pulled it off and that is down to the sheer determination of this pair, plus some enviable organisational skills from Cathy!
It threatened to rain all morning, but as if on queue as soon as Cathy was ready to join their gathering guests, the sun came out. They had an outdoor humanist ceremony, filled with speeches and readings from friends and family, before dining on delicious wood fired pizzas in the barn, followed by Chocolate and Cakes lovingly made and served by chocolatier Mama Bombon. As the sun went down drinks and cocktails were served from a VW camper van while they danced the night away. A memorable day ended with a BBQ around the campfire.
